Why do a course with Tacita at Mama’s tlc?

Tacita is warm, friendly and empathetic. She’s a fully qualified KG Hypnobirthing Teacher (she even has the letters after her name…. DipHB(KGH)). She’s passionate about sharing the positive impact that hypnobirthing can have on a family and had a positive birth herself, using hypnobirthing techniques. She’s also a trained scientist, with over 7 years experience in communication and engagement – her courses are open and welcoming, informative and practical. There’s also always tea and biscuits (only the good ones, not a digestive in sight.. unless that’s your jam!)

Why does Mama’s tlc teach KGHypnobirthing?

At Mama’s tlc we like to know why things work the way they do – we believe in research and evidence and we think that KG Hypnobirthing provides all that and more. Katharine Graves Hypnobirthing is the original UK hypnobirthing course and their teacher training is accredited by the Royal College of Midwives. It is a complete antenatal programme, which is evidenced-based, logical, simple and empowering. It provides information, tools and techniques allowing expectant parents to let go of fear, assumptions and preconceptions, feel prepared and informed to have a calm, confident, comfortable and positive birth.

When should I start a course?

We recommend that you start a hypnobirthing course anytime after 20 weeks. This way you have plenty of time for practice and can enjoy the benefits during your pregnancy and for the birth of your baby.

Benefits of Hypnobirthing for Mama & Baby?

The tools and techniques of hypnobirthing have been taught for a long time and the benefits to mother and baby are well known to include:

• Shorter, more comfortable labours
• Quicker recovery with physical impact of birth reduced
• Feeling empowered to make decisions and take responsibility for birth
• Ability to work with the body and mind
• Letting go of fears surrounding birth
• Calm, relaxed, contented baby

Should I bring my birth partner?

In short, YES! Our courses are inclusive and give birth partners the knowledge, tools and techniques to support Mama’s in pregnancy and birth. Well informed, calm and confident birth partners are invaluable during birth. Their presence is vital, practising with Mama ahead of the birth can build their relationship, confidence and trust in one another. Birth partners during birth can communicate with midwives, support the mother with relaxation and breathing techniques, providing a supportive environment. Pregnancy and birth become a shared and loving experience.

Can I come on my own?

Absolutely, you are most welcome. There are many reasons why you may come alone (single parents, birth partner away, no childcare), but the course is still accessible and will work for you.
